About Us

Muhamad Azam

Muhamad Azam (FCPA Australia, BBus(DP), PMC) has wide-ranging experience in Strategic and Business Planning, IT audit, Business Process Innovation (BPI), Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). His work in these areas has benefited many due to the strong educational element and sustainable benefits. Azam was trained and mentored in ERM, BPI and BSC techniques by experts in these areas. He headed the Information Technology (IT) Audit function at Times Publishing; and the IT Audit, Business Process Innovation and Enterprise Risk Management functions in the course of his 17-year career at Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). Azam was VP – Corporate Development at SPH. Prior to that, he was an IT auditor with the then Coopers & Lybrand.

Joyce Yeo

Joyce Yeo (FCPA Singapore and Australia, CIA) has extensive experience in audit, accounting and management projects gathered from working in a public accounting firm and public listed companies. Her experiences were across diverse industries primarily multi-media publishing (newspaper, books, magazine, internet, TV broadcast), commercial printing, life and general insurance, marketing, distribution and retail in Singapore and in some major cities overseas. She headed the internal audit functions of Times Publishing for 10 years and Singapore Press Holdings for 18 years before stepping down to pursue this business. Whilst at SPH, she was instrumental in spearheading a number of corporate governance initiatives including business process innovation and risk management. She was the SVP Internal Audit at SPH.

Joyce is ACTion Advisory’s Co-Founder, Director & Principal Consultant.

Yoong Lai Heong (CA Singapore)  has extensive experience in auditing, accounting, banking, management projects as well as lecturing in business and finance. She started her career as an auditor with one of the top-tier accounting firms, with exposure across various industries from small medium enterprises to MNCs and public listed companies.

She then moved on to banking industry as internal auditor, financial controller, head of operations and deputy general manager. Besides overseeing banking operations, she also initiated process re-engineering, business continuity projects, spearheaded mergers and system conversion projects, out-fitting of new banking premises as well as closing down of bank branches.

After stepping down from full time work, she spent time assisting new start-ups to implement accounting and management information systems, corporate governance, HR and internal control policies and procedures, setting up administrative, operational, supply chain management as well as production flow processes and functions.  Heong also lectured on part time basis in polytechnics teaching accounting, auditing, banking, taxation and infocom subjects.
